Surly Brewing Co.

As marketing manager at Surly Brewing Co., I was hired to create and manage a brand calendar for social media, web, and email. The brand strategy I created focused on a sense of place in two ways: driving traffic to the new destination brewery and brewing beer that captures the gritty side of living in Minnesota. My role quickly expanded to assume more responsibilities. By the time I left the brewery, I was also responsible for all photography, created and managed a paid media plan (print, digital display, search), led design and development of a new SurlyBrewing.com and SurlyDarknessDay.com, launched several integrated campaigns, and wrote and directed Surly’s first two TV spots.
